Nefertiti

The Mysterious Beauty

SS 18
Amrapali Jewels | Internship Project
Insipration

This collection is inspired by one of the most beautiful and powerful woman of Egyptian history, Nefertiti, whose name means “a beautiful woman has come”.

Nefertiti was the queen of Egypt and wife of Pharaoh Akhenaten during the 14th century B.C. She and her husband established the cult of Aten, the sun god, and promoted Egyptian artwork that was radically different from its predecessors.

The collection is made in the gold plated base metal. Egyptians cherished gold a lot as they believed it has some magical potency and contains significant religious properties. They believed gold did not tarnish or deteriorate.

But importantly gold shone like the sun god and was therefore credited with the powers of the sun god, Aten. Egyptian gold was referred to as the “Flesh of the Gods”.

The forms of insects, flowers, architecture, and cultural practices are the muse that simplifies and modernized to create a jewelry collection. These forms are amalgamated geometric shapes to give the collection an edgy and modular look for urban women.

Colour Palette
Motifs

The floral prints and patterns used in the collection were inspired by these motifs. Major part of the collection was designed with the help of these motifs and amalgamating elements together to come up with something unique and out of the box.

These motifs and patterns were seen majorly in the old Egyptian scripts and paintings which were found around 4000 years ago by the archaeologists.
