
THE PROJECT
The project was an initiative of the Karnataka Government in collaboration of Khadi Nation to promote Make In India. We as Designers were supposed to come up with innovative designs that may increase the market demand of the same. We selected fashion accessories as a category to promote khadi.
Being women ourselves, we felt we will better be able to sympathize with our client if they were also women. We then selected the client gender and age divide.
DECISION: 25-40 years old women
BASIC OUTLINE OF CLIENT: Working women with multitasking requirements.

KHADI HANDBAG
A refined and sophisticated bag for the women who handle the world. Need to pay the parking meter, but can’t find your loose change without rummaging for hours? Have seconds before a meeting but can’t seem to pull out your lipstick in time?
This cotton silk khadi bag has individual pouches for each separate essential – makeup, cash, loose change, cards. You name it. And that’s not all. What sets this bag aside, is that these pouches are removable. You won’t have to spend hours and the patience looking for things in your bag. Simply reach for the pouch, take it out, and voila!
The colors – mustard and grey – are inspired by Fall/Winter 2017 and the printed fabric inside is a tan colored print for that touch of Indian to the otherwise Western silhouette. So ladies, say goodbye to cluttered bags.
